Traffic and Banner Exchanges

By Kovich On August 28, 2009 Under Traffic

Over the years I have tried bringing traffic to my sites and marketing pages in a number of different ways. I typically group all traffic sources into two sections: Section A and Section B. In section A are the techniques I outlined in an earlier post here. Section B is comprised of the methods I will be discussing in this post. I have never heard of this traffic reacting negatively with AdSense, but I have not personally verified this because I refuse to use AdSense on any of my sites. (Note: AdSense has clarified – manual traffic exchanges will negatively impact your account. I am unsure about the other methods described in this post.) For clarification, Section A is best for bringing useful traffic to things like a blog whereas Section B is more appropriate if you have a sales or marketing page. However, feel free to use both for whatever you’d like.

Manual Traffic Exchanges are ones where you sit down and you physically view the pages of other people. In the example I will provide below, you will receive 1 Credit for each site you view for 20 seconds. You then use that 1 Credit to receive 1 Visitor to a site of your choosing. The thing I like about this method is that you’re guaranteed to get views and they are all humans who are physically looking at your page because there will be a question they need to answer to confirm viewing. Also, you might find something interesting while surfing!

My favorite manual traffic exchange is EasyHits4U. They offer 2:1 and 1:1 surfing for free. 2:1 runs on a 15 second timer and gives you more bonuses and 1:1 has a 20 second timer with a standard number of bonuses. Bonuses are everything from free days as a premium member to text ad and banner ad impressions or surf drawing tickets.

Then we have banner exchanges. These are good background sources of website traffic. Basically you will display a banner on your site and each impression and click goes onto your account – then you use those (automatically) to get impressions on your banners. The more clicks the banners you display on your site get, the more impressions you’ll receive for the impressions you give. The banners are unobtrusive and typically very tasteful.

I personally use and recommend:
eBannerTraffic | ibi4u Exchange | MonsterAdvertiser

There is another great site called HeaderAds that displays a small banner at the very top of your page. Some people might not want to display something right at the top, but the benefits of using one are pretty great. I recommend it highly if you have a page on which it would prove useful.

If you give out a lot of links on a regular basis – such as on a website or forum, or even in your blog – you can make money with every link! There is a site called LinkBee that will shorten your link and pay you to display a banner at the top of the site you’re linking to. (It’s done through frames.) The process is simple and you can earn $1 or more for every 1,000 impressions!

Finally, the last site I will link to you is VineFire. Post as many links as you want per day and make money every time they’re clicked. It’s free to sign-up and free to participate – in fact, you even get a $10 sign-up bonus! Definitely worth checking out.

That’s all for today, folks. Feel free to comment about your thoughts on the methods I discussed above or to share methods of your own.
